ओट्स खिचड़ी (Oats Khichdi / Diabetes and Low-Cal Recipe) by Tarla Dalal

Today, we are making “Oats Khichdi”. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. Add the green chilli paste. Add the garlic paste. Mix well. Add the turmeric powder. Sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds. Add the oats. Add the yellow moong dal and sauté on a medium
flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously. Add 1 1/2 cups of hot water. Add salt to taste. Mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Serve immediately with low-fat curds.

  6. Thank u ma'am for this wonderful recipe. I'm diabetic and like desserts.Can u upload some dessert recipes suitable for diabetics. I tried ur spinach soup recipe and it came out well.I made a small change.I had to make sambar so I cooked 250 gms toor dal with 750 ml water.I swished the dal and let it settle.Then poured out the water and used it for the soup.Then I added the top layer of boiled and cooled one litr milk and avoided the cream.The soup was tasty and liked by all. Thank U.

  20. Hello, I made this recipe and it came out great. However, the Dal didn't get cooked. I mean, it was quite hard. Could you please tell what went wrong?

Mam, can't tell you how much tasty it was 🙂 I had it without any guilt it was extremely delicious and that too it is low in calorie I can have it without any guilt as I'm a pcos patient who is trying to loose weight . Mam I request you to make low calorie food recipes Just like it for PCOS patients 🙂
