Hi, this is Henry from Norton support. In this video, I will show you how to use Norton Power Eraser. Norton Power Eraser is an aggressive malware removal tool that removes unwanted applications, unwanted adware toolbars, and other sophisticated threats. When you install any freeware or
shareware applications, a few unwanted applications may get installed along with the main application. Potentially unwanted applications include Adware, Spyware, Hacking tools and Dialers. Let’s see how to run the Unwanted Application Scan using Norton Power Eraser. Go to “norton.com/npe”. Click “Download”. Save the file to the desktop and double-click it. In Chrome or Firefox, by default, the downloaded file gets saved to the “Downloads” folder. Locate the “NPE.exe” file and double-click it. In the User Control Window, click “Yes”. Read the End User License Agreement and click “Accept”. Click “Unwanted Application Scan”. When the scan completes, Norton Power Eraser displays any unwanted applications that it has detected. If the “Action” column shows “Uninstall”, click and follow the onscreen instructions to remove the application. There you go… Norton Power Eraser has removed it. Now, let’s see how to remove other threats from your computer. In the main window, click “Scan for Risks”. Click “Restart” to include the rootkit scan. After restarting, the scanning process starts automatically. Norton Power Eraser marks the files it suspects as malware. Sometimes, a legitimate file may be improperly marked. So, before clicking “Fix now”, which deletes the selected files, review the scan results carefully and make sure that no legitimate files are selected. If you still suspect, you can run a cloud scan for one more layer of scanning, by clicking the cloud icon next to the “Action” column. After you select the files, Click “Fix now”. Click “Restart Now” to restart your computer to complete the threat removal. After restarting, click “Yes” in the User control window. The removal results window lists the risks that are fixed. Click “Done”. There you go… Norton Power Eraser has removed the threats. If you have accidentally removed any legitimate files using Norton Power Eraser, the “Undo Previous Fix” option, allows you to restore them. For more information, go to “norton.com/npeinfo”. Thanks for Watching.
