pardpardeftab720ri720 The Scariest day of my life
It was a cold November morning, and I had turned 40 a few months before. I had just
dropped off my boys who were 1 and 3 years old at their preschool, and I was on my way
to work when I began to feel some nausea in the pit of my stomach. Could this be the greasy
food that I ate last night? I was glad to stop at a red light and catch my breath. Suddenly,
I felt short of breath and had crushing chest pain. Could this be a heart attack? Fortunately,
the hospital was nearby, and I was able to pull into the parking lot. I took a moment
to collect my breath, while I prepared for the walk in. It was the longest walk of my
life. I was able to stumble into the emergency room and tap on the shoulder of my friend,
who was the emergency room doctor and said, I think I am having a heart attack.
He quickly placed me on a stretcher while the nurses ripped open my shirt and placed
EKG leads on me. After it was done, I asked to see it, and when the nurses brought the
print-out to me, my worst nightmare was confirmed. I was having a heart attack. Time seemed to
stand still. Thoughts of my wife and kids came to me, and I knew that I had a lot to
lose. I wanted to see them grow up. Fortunately, I was able to survive this, and I wanted to
make sure that it never happened again. So, I made 3 important changes in my life. The first,
was dietary. My wife modified our food to fit with a low fat, plant-based foods that
were shown to be beneficial in the Ornish and Esselstyn studies. These studies showed
that heart disease can be reversed. Two, I made exercise a big part of my life, and three,
I engaged in a stress relief program. The health benefits that I have seen from this
are profound. I feel that I have more energy, and I am even healthier than before the
heart attack. It is our goal to share the benefits of this lifestyle with all of you.
So, we wrote a cookbook based on the diet we adopted. My wife and I are working professionals,
and we don’t have many hours to spend in the kitchen. So we developed recipes that
are quick and easy to prepare and also flavorful, so we don’t feel as if we have given anything
up. We hope that this makes a difference in in your life, too. For more information, please
